BE IT ENACTED BY THE YOUTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA YOUTH LEGISLATURE –
An act to
Ban all types of animal testing

SECTION I - PURPOSE
The primary purpose is to prevent the suffering, harm, or death of animals that are caused by testing. Animal testing
often involves procedures that cause pain, distress, or long-term harm, so this law would aim to reduce or eliminate
this cruelty. This law would promote alternative methods that would push scientists, companies, and institutions to find
more humane and ethical methods for research and product testing. Animal testing can involve chemicals and biological
waste that harm the environment. Additionally, results from animal studies don’t always accurately predict human
responses. So passing my bill to ban it might lead to safer and more reliable human-based testing methods that don't
harm living things or our environment.

SECTION II - JUSTIFICATION
This bill is important because it addresses the ethical, environmental, and scientific problems caused by animal testing
in Minnesota. Every year, thousands of animals(such as mice, rabbits, and dogs)are used in experiments that can cause
pain, distress, and lasting harm. A law against animal testing would protect these animals from unnecessary suffering
and promote more humane scientific ways. This law would solve the problem of animal suffering in laboratories, reduce
reliance on outdated testing methods, and support the growth of ethical, science-based innovation in Minnesota.
Ultimately, It benefits animals, researchers, businesses, and consumers alike while aligning with our state’s commitment
to compassion and environmental responsibility to stop this cruel thing.
